Rebecca Raper Orrick – Obituary

Rebecca Raper Orrick, 67, died Wednesday, March 8, 2017, at her residence. She was born in Belmont, Mississippi and was a factory worker and homemaker. She was a member of Red Bay Freewill Baptist Church where she helped with many functions of the church.

Services will be Friday, March 10, 2 p.m., at Red Bay Freewill Baptist Church with Brother Robert Wood officiating. Burial will be in Old Line Cemetery, Hodges, Alabama. Deaton Funeral Home, Red Bay, Alabama, will be in charge of arrangements.

She is survived by her husband, Philip Orrick, Red Bay, Alabama; two sons, Brent Raper (Penny), Belmont, Mississippi, and Barry Raper (Amanda), Ashland City, Tennessee; 12 grandchildren, Haley, Alyson, Hannah, Tre, Emma, Caroline, Elijah, Tracy, Rodney, Erica, Randy, and Zack; three sisters, Carolyn Gober (Felton), Muscle Shoals, Alabama, Nancy Edwards, Dorsey, Mississippi, and Jean Wood, Gadsden, Alabama; and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Jimmy Raper; a daughter, Mechelle Ann Raper; her parents, Orville and Ruth Wood; and a brother, Paul Wood.

Pallbearers will be Steve Bostick, Jimmy Tate, Jimmy Harris, Wade Barksdale, Mike Jones, and Robert Newell.

Visitation will be today, 6-9 p.m., at Deaton Funeral Home, Red Bay, Alabama, and she will lie in state Friday, March 10, noon-2 p.m., at the church.
