John W. Greene, 87, of Decatur passed away Monday, Feb. 27, 2017 at Decatur Morgan Hospital. He was born in Morgan County to Carl and Clara Walter Greene.
Mr. Greene was retired from SCI, and he had been employed as an instructor with Huntsville Vocational Technical School. He loved camping and woodworking. He is preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Carl S. Greene Jr.
He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Shelby Greene; son, Steven Greene; daughter, Karen Corry; granddaughter, Megan Corry Butler (David); brother, Kenneth Greene (Dean) and a sister, Marie Thomas.
Visitation will be tonight from 6 to 8 at Hartselle Heritage Funeral Home. Funeral will be Thursday, March 2, 2017 at 2 p.m. in the chapel with Reverend Brad Campbell officiating. Burial will follow in Burningtree Cemetery. Hartselle Heritage Funeral Home is assisting the family.
