Ora Dathel McFerrin Lumalcuri – Obituary

Ora Dathel McFerrin Lumalcuri, 90, passed away Sunday, February 26, 2017, at the North Mississippi Medical Center in Pontotoc. She was born August 12, 1926, in Itawamba County to Ottis D. and Myrtis Duvall McFerrin. She worked in clerical work in the medical field and attended Mantachie United Methodist Church. She loved shopping and raising exotic plants.

Services will be at 3 p.m. Thursday, March 2, at the McNeece-Morris Funeral Home Chapel in Mantachie with the Rev. Joe Coggins officiating. Burial will be in the Mantachie Cemetery.

Survivors include two grandchildren, Amanda Tortino (Kenny) and Matthew Lumalcuri (Amanda); one great-grandchild, Savannah Tortino; and her daughter-in-law, Paula Lumalcuri, all of Yonkers, New York; special friends, Sonny and Dianne Phillips of Unity; and several nephews and nieces.

She was preceded in death by her husband, William “Bill” Lumalcuri; her two sons, Billy Joe Lumalcuri and Gary Lumalcuri; one sister, Burnette Grissom; one brother, Gayle “Ace” McFerrin; and her parents.

Pallbearers will be Stacy McFerrin, Mac McFerrin, Bud Duvall, Mark Duvall, Terry Jones, and Sonny Phillips.

Visitation will be from 1 to 3 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
