MADISON COUNTY-Madison County Sheriff Blake Dorning released a statement concerning a deceased man found on Tuesday, February 21:
“Sheriff Blake Dorning announced today that on February 18, 2017 at approximately 2:30 am the Madison County Sheriff’s Office responded to Stateline Rd East of Macedonia Rd in the Northwest area of Madison County in reference to a 911 call regarding an altercation involving an assault victim.
Upon Patrol Deputies arrival, a white male, Kevin Bennett, 40 years of age, was located and found lying in the roadway deceased. The Alabama State Troopers responded to assist Madison County to the possibility of the deceased subject being struck by a vehicle.
The Madison County Sheriff’s Office detained two subjects for questioning. The deceased subject in this incident was transported to the Alabama Department of Forensic Science for autopsy and further investigation.
No arrest has been made at this time.
The investigation into this incident continues and further information will be provided when it becomes available.”
