John Amos Harris – Obituary

John Amos Harris 83, of Falkville passed away Wednesday, Feb. 15, 2017 at his residence. He was born Feb. 28, 1933 in Morgan County to John Goldman and Dovie Lindley Harris. He was a member of the St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Cullman. He is preceded in death by his parents and two sisters, Geneva Fore and Sue Ann Harris.

He is survived by his wife, Margaret “Marge” Harris; his children, James “Buddy” Harris, Eddie Jake Harris, Steven LaMar Harris, Kathy S. Mansfield, Paula J. Collins, Margie A. Bair, Michael L. Mansfield and Steven D. Mansfield; two brothers, Johnnie Harris and John Paul Harris; also 13 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be Saturday, Feb. 18, 2017 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Hartselle Heritage Funeral Home followed by a chapel service at 1 p.m. with Pastor Bussman officiating. Burial will follow in Ebenezer Baptist Church Cemetery, Lacon Road, Falkville. In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorials to Hospice of the Valley, P.O. Box 2745, Decatur, AL 35602. Hartselle Heritage Funeral Home is assisting the family.
