John Griswell was born March 26, 1948 in McNairy County, TN the son of the late Logan Street Griswell and Tressie Mae Matlock Griswell.
He was united in marriage to Brenda Sue on February 25, 1967.
Mr. Griswell was an Airframe & Powerplant mechanic with Inspection Authorization for over 46 years. His contribution to the aviation industry will forever be remembered.
His interests varied from fishing in the pond, riding 4-wheelers, collecting and shooting guns, to recreational flying. His knowledge of mechanics extended to much smaller engines such as mowers, motorcycles, and 4-wheelers.
Mr. Griswell departed this life on February 15, 2017 in Michie, Tennessee at the age of 68 Years, 10 Months, 20 Days. He is survived by his wife, Sue Griswell of Michie, TN; a daughter, Brenda Cummings and husband Ken of Michie, TN; two grandchildren, J.D. Moore and fiance’ Sommer Austin of Corinth, MS, Kristi Chandler of Hornsby, TN; a great-grandson, Jace Austin; a sister, Nell Knight and husband Bud of Bolivar, TN; and a host of extended family and friends.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Griswell was preceded in death by a sister, Sue Wilson; two brothers, Paul and Max Griswell.
