Doyle Odell Burdine – Obituary

Mr. Doyle Odell Burdine, 68, died peacefully at home on February 14, 2017, following a brief illness. A lifelong resident of Fulton, he was born on September 7, 1948, in Fulton to Lilly Cautense Burdine and Melvin Miller. Doyle and Eddie Burdine worked side by side at Super Sagless for 15+ years. A member of the Assemblies of Yahweh, Doyle drew daily strength and comfort from reading his bible. Doyle’s family was his pride and joy. To Doyle, each new child was a blessing. He showered each one with attention, love, and encouragement. He experienced much joy as a favorite uncle to his many nieces and nephews. His life enhanced the lives of each one.

He is survived by two sisters, Laura Stegall of Fulton and Mary Elizabeth Burdine of Philadelphia, PA;  a brother, George M. Burdine (Dot) of Fulton; an aunt, Ruby Burdine of Philadelphia, PA; four nieces, Lynette Pope, Lynn Hill, Annette McKisick (ToJo), and Heather Lewis (Fitzroy); three nephews, George Burdine, Jr., Bruce Burdine, and Antoine Burdine; and six great-nieces and great-nephews.

He is preceded in death by a brother, Eddie Burdine; a sister, Marilla Burdine Pope; nephew, Brian Hill; and great-nephew Isaiah Hill.

Graveside services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, February 20,  at the Fulton Community Cemetery with Bro. Walter Jernigan officiating.  Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Sunday, February 19, at McNeece-Morris Funeral Home in Fulton.
