Owens Crossroads Man Charged With Making Terrorist Threats

MORGAN COUNTY-The Morgan County Sheriff’s Department released a statement regarding the arrest of a Owens Crossroads man who has been charged with Terrorist Treats:

“A report was filed by a Valhermoso Springs woman who has led to an arrest of a Owens Crossroads man on a charge of Terrorist Threat.

The woman reported that a man she been dating but recently broke up with had been calling her and threatening her, and said he was on the way to her residence. When he arrived, he produced a rifle. He made threats to her life, asked her if she was “…ready to die”, and fired several rounds from the rifle into the ground. He departed and called 911. Deputies responded. While the deputies were there, the suspect called and made other threatening remarks, which the responding deputies were able to hear.

Investigators obtained a warrant for the arrest of RICKIE DEAN HOPKINS on a charge of Terrorist Threat. Morgan County Sheriff’s Deputy and U.S Marshall’s arrested Hopkins in Huntsville on February 8th. He was released on $20,000 bond.”
