Elsie Irene White, 90, passed away Feb. 1, 2017, at Florence Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. She was a homemaker and a Christian.
Survivors include sons, James Carl White and Kenneth Wayne White, of Florence; daughter, Janice Ruth White, of Tallahassee, Florida; brother, Ledford Austin, of Benton Harbor, Michigan; grandchildren, Karla Dawson, of Killen, Barry White, of Hayden, Alabama, and Tracy White, of Florence; and great-grandchildren, Mikayla Dawson, of Killen, Chelsea Dorroh, of Florence, and one on the way.
She was preceded in death by parents, Marion and Nancy Austin; son, Jimmy Lynn White; and several brothers and sisters.
There will be a graveside service Friday, Feb. 3, at Tri-Cities Memorial Gardens at 1 p.m. with Pastor Phillip Skipworth and friend Cliff Miles officiating. Pallbearers will be friends of the family.
The family would like to extend a special thanks to the staff of Florence Nursing and Rehabilitation Center and Hospice of the Shoals for their care given.
The family suggests that, in lieu of flowers, contributions be made to Hospice of Shoals: 115 Fairground Rd., Florence, AL 35630.
