Robert Donald King – Obituary

Robert Donald King was born May 24, 1929 in Hardeman County , TN the son of the late Meredy A. and Kitty Mullins King.

He was united in marriage to Peggy Glover on April 24, 1985.

Mr. King was a truck driver and drove for Hoover Freight Line for over 20 years. He enjoyed spending time with his family, church family and friends. He was a member of Second Baptist Church in Selmer, Tennessee. He was a simple country man with a conversation so warm and friendly and a smile just the same.

Mr. King departed this life on January 29, 2017 in Selmer, Tennessee at the age of 87 Years, 8 Months, 5 Days. He is survived by his wife Peggy King of Selmer, TN; daughter, Judy Mauldin Glueck and husband Kenny of Middleton, TN; a son, Billy Mauldin and wife Jana of Hendersonville, TN; step daughter, Johnnie Blakey of Memphis, TN; four grandchildren, Marcus Mauldin and wife Jackie of Newbern, TN, Matthew Mauldin and wife Dian of Newbern, TN, Jenny Mauldin of Hendersonville, TN, Mallory Mauldin of Hendersonville, TN; seven great grandchildren; two sisters, Jo Hume, and Sadie Collins both of Memphis, TN; a special grandson, David Tull of Selmer, TN; special niece, Ruth Glover of Selmer, TN; and a host of extended family and friends.

In addition to his parents, Mr. King was preceded in death by a stepson, Jackie Tull; a brother, Buel King and wife Dorothy.
