Later, he and his wife rededicated their lives to God in 2010 when they joined New Life Church where he was an usher.

Three grandchildren, Elijah Watson; Isaiah Terry; and Tiana Watson. Two sisters, Barbara Taylor Pierce; and Mary Louise Sykes Monroe. Three brothers Jessie “Sonny” Sykes; Jessie Sykes Jr. and Kenneth Sykes. A host of nieces and nephews who he loved very much.

Willie spent the last 15 years of his working career serving at the Tupelo Country Club. He loved all the club members and the members enjoyed him. He was a man of many talents, but his passion in life was his family and helping and pleasing others. His life was earnest. His actions were kind. He had a willing hand and an active mind. He was always anxious to please.
