Betty Gerald Gardner, 90, of Ripley, MS
Services for Mrs. Gardner will be held Saturday, January 28, 2017 in Lebanon, Indiana. Burial will be in Roachdale Cemetery. Times will be announced as they are arranged. Myers Funeral Home, Lebanon, has charge of services there.

Mrs. Gardner passed away Friday, January 20, 2017 at North Mississippi Medical Center in Tupelo, MS.

A native of Raccoon, Indiana, she was the daughter of the late Grover and Olevia Hicks Gerald. She lived many years in Indiana where she worked as a fruit farm supervisor and also operated a truck patch with her husband, Edward, in Michigan.

The Gardners were united in marriage on April 5, 1943 and moved to Pocahontas, TN in 1985. Mr. Gardner died July 4, 2000. Mrs. Gardner moved to Ripley, MS approximately 2 years ago. In her leisure time, she enjoyed knitting, television and traveling. She was a member of the Ladoga Christian Church.

Survivors include her daughter, Olevia Jackson of Ripley, MS; a granddaughter, Kelly Jackson Rutherford; five great-grandchildren, Brent Gibson (Katie), Holly McCamey (Adam), Katy Moss (Josh), Kristy Robertson and Austin Butler (Melissa); and seven great-grandchildren, Wyatt and James Gibson, Kailyn, Kylee and Kaeden McCamey, Kason Moss and Chloe Kate Robertson.

In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Tina Jackson Butler; and several sisters and brothers.

Memorials may be sent to one of the following charities:

1 – Alzheimer’s Association;
2 – National Parkinson’s Foundation;
3 – American Heart Association; or
4 – National Kidney Foundation
