Marvin Hill, Jr., 81, of Russellville, Alabama, passed away Monday, January 16, 2017, at his residence.
Mr. Hill was born in Florence, Alabama, and had lived in Franklin County, Alabama, most of his life. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Russellville.
Visitation for Mr. Hill will be Monday, January 23, 2017, from 11:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. at Pinkard Funeral Home, Russellville, Alabama. Services will follow at 1:00 p.m. in the funeral home chapel. Officiating will be Rev. Bonner. Burial will follow in Fairview Cemetery in Russellville.
Survivors include his wife Hazel Geneva Hill; children: Leverne Hamilton, Richard Dotson, Hazel Hill, Teresa Hill, Sharon Hill, Larry Hill, and Martin Hill. Surviving are also one brother, Wash Bates (Fannie Bates) and and one sister, Cardelia Dale (Jack Dale). Nineteen grandchildren, 29 great grandchildren, and 2 great-great grandchildren also survive him as well as several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his father Marvin Hill, Sr. and his mother Johnnie Mae Haley. Two sons also precede him: Patrick Hill and Gregory Hill.
Pinkard Funeral Home, Russellville, will be assisting the family.
