Michael Anderson Veazey – Obituary

Michael Anderson Veazey, 63, of Moulton, Alabama, passed away Sunday, January 8, 2017, at Helen Keller Hospital, with family at his side.  He was born October 25, 1953 in Cabin Creek, West Virginia, to Joseph and Ruth Anderson Veazey.  He was raised in Pratt, West Virginia, and served as a volunteer firefighter as a teenager.  Mike graduated from East Bank High School and after graduation worked as a surveyor and a coal miner.  Mike later moved to Arizona where he worked as a copper miner.  After moving to Alabama, he was a routeman for Coca Cola.  Mike enjoyed camping, fishing, hunting, and playing ball with his sons.

Michael was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph McKernan Veazey and Ruth Anderson Veazey, brother, James Rose Anderson, and grandparents, Victor Stockton Veazey, Marguerite Beirne Veazey, George Dennis Anderson, and Evelyn Hudnall Anderson.

Survivors include children Michael Joe Veazey, Houston, Texas, and Cole Jackson Veazey, Decatur, Alabama; siblings Joseph Stockton Veazey (Gloria), Tuscumbia, Alabama, and Marybeth Veazey Copley (Terry), Muscle Shoals, Alabama, and several nephews, nieces, great-nephews and great-nieces.
