Eula “Jean” Hubbard – Obituary

Eula “Jean” Hubbard, 86, passed away Thursday, January 12, 2017. Visitation will be Monday, Jan. 16, 2017, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Cherokee Church of Christ with service to follow at 1 p.m. Burial will be in Colbert Memorial Gardens. Brother Ricky Collum will be officiating. She was a member of Cherokee Church of Christ. Jean graduated as valedictorian from Red Bay High School in 1947 and retired from U.S. Steel Agri-Chemicals as an accountant after 25 plus years of loyal service.

She was preceded in death by parents, Luther and Margaret Jackson; husband, Coach N.C. Hubbard; brothers, Clyde Jackson, Cecil Jackson, Hershel Jackson, and Jack Jackson; and sisters, Ruth Jackson Key and Peg Jackson Rice.

Survivors are sons, Norman Hubbard (Brenda) and James Hubbard (Patty); grandchildren, Cassie Montgomery (Ron), Chris Hubbard (Teresa), Jeremy Hubbard, and Dr. Jennifer Hubbard; great-grandchildren, Ethan, Noah, Sam, and Lucas; and a host of loving nieces, nephews, and other family members.

Pallbearers will be Ethan Montgomery, Noah Montgomery, Sam Montgomery, Ronald Montgomery, Matthew Turnbow, and Morgan Turnbow. Honorary is Lucas Hubbard.

In lieu of flowers donations may be made to St. Jude Children’s Hospital.

Colbert Memorial Chapel is assisting the family.
