Thomas Sherald Thornton, 78, died Monday, Jan. 9, 2017, at Cypress Cove Nursing Home.
Visitation will be Saturday, Jan. 14, 2017, from noon-2 p.m. at Rogersville Funeral Home. Funeral services will follow in the chapel with Justus Cole officiating. Burial will be in Harvey Cemetery.
Mr. Thornton was preceded in death by his parents, Thomas and Mary Jane Thornton; sister, Golden Dison; brother, Charles Robert Thornton; daughter, Rebecca “Skeeter”; and stepdaughter, Teresa Davis.
He is survived by his wife, Edith Carolyn Thornton; children, Scotty (Sally) Thornton, Stacy (Linda) Thornton, and Stevie (Sharon) Thornton; 18 grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; stepchildren, Renee (John) Thompson, Tammy (Rocky) Simpson, Mark (Melody) Campbell, and Charlotte Davis; stepson-in-law, Tony Davis; sister-in-law, Linda (Clinton) Flanagan; and numerous stepgrandchildren and stepgreat-grandchildren.
