James Edward Thigpen, 72, died Wednesday, Jan. 10, 2017.
He was retired from Ford Motor Company in Wayne, Michigan.
Funeral services will be today at 2 p.m. at Rogersville Church of Christ. Friends may visit from 1-2 p.m. at the church. Burial will follow in Hammond Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Clint Gatlin, Zack Gatlin, Chase Williams, Lane Ball, David Lee Ball, and Stevie Corum.
James was preceded in death by his mother, Omie Lee Thigpen; sister, Mary Lee Thigpen; and brother-in-law, Troy Gatlin.
He is survived by his son, Dewie Lee Thigpen; father, Edward Lee Thigpen; brothers, Ray (Jewelene) Thigpen and Randy (Gail) Thigpen; sisters, Charlotte Gatlin and Sandy (Jimmy) Black; and several nieces and nephews.
