SHEFFIELD – So everybody, it seems, thinks that Muscle Shoals City is where all the music happened… But that’s not the entire story. Taking nothing from empresario and Grammy winning, Rick Hall and his legendary FAME Studio, there was another legendary iconic recording venue. It was called Muscle Shoals Sound Studio. and it was located at 3614 Jackson Highway in Sheffield… Correction is is STILL there! After a 3-year effort, this badass building that was a  casket manufacturing site is once again open to the public. Thanks to Dr. Dre and Producer Jimmy Iovine and their $750-thousand gift, this studio is ready to go. Before the studio even opened its doors, last week the Alabama State Department of Tourism named 3614 Jackson Highway as the State’s top attraction for 2017.

It’s ready to begin cutting tracks and making new music. And, unlike many recording studios… The public is invited to come by and take a peek at the place where all the magic happens. It’s open from ten-to-five Monday thru Saturday for tours. Nothing later, please… Because there’s a schedule of A-List recording artists who want to come to Muscle Shoals Sound Studios most nights after six-o’clock to record new stuff.

Here are a few photos from the first day…
