Jerry Ray Lackey – Obituary

Jerry Ray Lackey, 79 of Lynn, entered into rest on January 3, 2017 at his home.

Mr. Lackey was on born November 4, 1937 in Lynn, Alabama. He was a retired UMWA Coal Miner. Jerry enjoyed riding and working on his tractor, talking on his CB radio, and loved helping everyone. He loved his dogs, especially Flash and Lady, but most of all, he loved his family. He was known on the CB as “57”.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, January 5, 2017 from 11am – 2pm at Nichols Funeral Home in Haleyville, where services will be held at 2pm. Reverend David Bozeman will officiate. Burial will follow in Tittle Cemetery in Lynn.

He is survived by his son, Phillip Lackey; daughter, Keri O’Rear and her husband Charles D. O’Rear, Jr.; mother of his children, Emily Lackey; sister, Billie Faye Tittle; sister in law, Patsy Lackey; and a host of nieces, nephews, family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his father, Guy Lackey; mother, Alice (Joe) Farris; brother, Homer Lackey; sisters, Earlene Tittle and Ruby Crowe.
