Dorothy Sue Newell Thomas – Obituary

Dorothy Sue Newell Thomas, 80, passed away Tuesday, January 3, 2017, at NMMC in Tupelo. She was born March 2, 1936 to the late Ruffin Newell and the late Offie Johnson Newell. She worked at Mantachie Manufacturing and Itawamba Manufacturing for many years. She was a member of Sandy Springs Baptist Church. She enjoyed cooking, reading, and going to gospel singings.

Services will be 2:00 pm on Thursday January 5, 2017 with visitation beginning at 11:00 am at Senter Funeral Home with Bro. James Segars and Bro. Jeff Moses. Burial will be in Sandy Springs Cemetery.

Survivors include her husband of 60 years, Ravious Thomas of Fulton, Daughter, Debbie Johnson of Fulton, Son, Terry (Kimberly) Thomas of Fulton, Grandsons: Bret Johnson, Rich (Tori) Johnson, and James Thomas, Granddaughter, Mackenzie Thomas, Great-grandsons: Austin Johnson and Spencer Johnson, Great-granddaughters: Harleigh Johnson and Kylee Johnson, Great-grandson, Raylon Johnson, Brother, Barney Newell of Russellville, Sisters: Faye Coker and Catherine Moses of Fulton.

Preceded in death by her parents and a grandson, Michael Thomas.

Pallbearers will be Kenny Coker, Randy Little, Carly Ray Hughes, John Moses, Marcus Little, Ronnie Smith, and Larry Digby.

Honorary Pallbearers are Bret Johnson, Rich Johnson, James Thomas, Austin Johnson, Spencer Johnson, and Raylon Johnson.
