Funeral service for Mr. Joe Frank Askew, age 77, of Fayetteville, will be conducted 3 p.m. Wednesday, January 4, 2017 at Fayetteville First United Methodist Church with Rev. Ann Hatcher, Rev. Will Wells, and Rev. Tommy Ward officiating. Burial will follow in Rose Hill Cemetery. Mr. Askew was the son of the late Rupert Caldwell and Mildred Gotcher Askew. He owned and operated Askew Insurance and Citizen Home Mutual, was a member of the Fayetteville First United Methodist Church, Fayetteville Lions Club and the Elks Lodge. In his spare time, he enjoyed wood working and fishing.
Survivors include his wife Polly Askew; daughters Angie Askew (Ron) Smith of Murfreesboro, and Jill (Jody) Dunivan of Petersburg; son Chad Hastings of Petersburg; grandchildren Madalyn Smith, Jackson Smith, Maggie Dunivan, Ty Dunivan, Ryan Hastings, Julie Hastings, and Joe Hastings; brother William Caldwell Askew; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Visitation will be 5 until 8 p.m. Tuesday, January 3, 2017 at Higgins Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to the Fayetteville First United Methodist Church, in memory of Mr. Askew. Higgins Funeral Home is honored to be serving the family of Mr. Joe Frank Askew
