George William Mann – Obituary

George William Mann, 81, passed away Sunday, January 1, 2017, at the Courtyards Community Living Center after an extended illness. He was born November 7, 1935, to Loyd Lee Mann and Esta Taylor Mann Harper. He worked at Penn Tire Company as a supervisor for 19 years until the company was bought out. He then went to Super Sagless and worked many years until retirement. He drove a school bus for Itawamba County Schools for several years. He was a long-time member of Greenwood Baptist Church where he was active in church activities. He enjoyed fishing and going to auctions.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday, January 3, at the McNeece-Morris Funeral Home Chapel in Fulton with Bro. Kelby Johnson officiating. Burial will be in the Keyes Cemetery.

Survivors include one son, Jeffrey William “Jeff” Mann (Mary) of Colorado Springs, CO; one daughter, Theresa Mann George (Andy) of Fulton; one granddaughter, Jessica Beasley Hopson (David) of Mantachie; one grandson, Jeffrey William Mann II (Olivia) of Mooreville; and one very special niece, Diane Brown of the Carolina community.

He was preceded in death by his loving wife, Opal Mann, on October 18, 2008; his father, Loyd Lee Mann; his mother and step-father, Esta and Dan Harper; and one sister, Esta Lee Young.

Visitation will be from noon until service time Tuesday at the funeral home.
