Funeral for Virginia Mae Holbert, 85, of Decatur will be Monday, Dec. 26, 2016, at 2 p.m. at Parkway Funeral Home with Royce Teague officiating. Burial will be in East Lawrence Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be from noon to 2 p.m. at the funeral home.
Mrs. Holbert, who died Thursday, Dec. 22, 2016, was born Wednesday, July 22, 1931, to Andrew Cole and Martha Teague Cole. She was a member of Central Park Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her daughter, Sharon Richards; father, Andrew Cole; mother, Martha Teague Cole; three brothers, Dwain Cole, Almos James Cole and Buddy Cole; and two sisters, Ann Reed and Nettie Cole.
Survivors include one daughter, Sandra Allen; brother, Jackie Cole; two grandchildren, Larry Shane Allen and Jamie (Lee) Cockrell; five great-grand- children, Jonathan Allen, Amber Allen, Emily Allen, McKinzie Allen and Ethan Cockrell; and two great- great-grandchildren, Preston McCoy and Jacob Allen.
Pallbearers will be grandsons and nephews.
