Mackey Wallace Boyd – Obituary

Mackey Wallace Boyd, 78, of Florence passed away on December 13, 2016 at Mitchell Hollingsworth Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. He was the owner of Boyd’s Auto Sales for over forty years. He was a wonderful husband, father, grandfather and great- grandfather and brother. He will truly be missed.

Visitation will be at Greenview Funeral Home Thursday, December 15, 2016 from 11:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. There will be a graveside service at 1:30 p.m. in Mt. Zion Cemetery with Bro. Jim Freeman officiating.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Jettie Andrew Boyd and Odell Wallace Boyd Call; daughter, Laura Boyd; sisters, Mary Dean Box and Helen Young.

Survivors include his wife, Doris Quillen Boyd; son, Tinker Boyd; daughters, Jetta Glover (Zack) and Caroline Cabler (Bill); brother, Jettie Boyd (Bobbie Sue); grandchildren, Molly Reed (Kevin), LauraLee Von Tress (Cass) and Alex Boyd and Mitchell Boyd; great-grandchildren, Alice and Charlie Von Tress who were his pride and joy; he loved his boy and girl.

Serving as pallbearers will be Bill Cabler, Junior Cabler, Tinker Boyd, Mitchell Boyd, Kevin Reed and Cass Von Tress.

Serving as honorary pallbearers will be Charlie Von Tress and Zack Glover.

The family would like to extend special thanks to the staff of Mitchell Hollingsworth Nursing and Rehabilitation Center and give an extra special thanks to therapists, Chris and Monica and caregiver, Wynella Rice.
