Shelby Jean Epperson passed away on August 11, 2012 after a courageous 3 year battle with cancer. She was born in the Pebble Community on April 8, 1936. Her parents were Marvin and Sallie Hughes Benford. She was one of twelve children. She was a teacher for many years, she taught at Colbert Heights, Phil Campbell, Vina and Cerro Gordo in Tennessee. She was a member of First Baptist Church. Shelby loved her Lord, Jesus Christ, her family and friends and she loved life. She was preceded in death by her parents, Marvin and Sallie Benford; her husbands, Jeff Robinson, Jr. and Billy J. Epperson; son, Rudy Epperson; brothers, Aaron Benford, Jerry Benford, Troy Benford; sisters, Jennie Abbott and Genoma Crisler. Left to cherish her memories and love are her children, Angela (Don) Minor, Jeff (Ramona) Robinson, Tina (Ronald) Harris, Margo O’Fallon, Susie Heinrich and Jennifer Epperson; her grandchildren, Andrea (Lance) McCullar, Melody (Wally) Miller, Jessica (Kenny) McDonald, Carrie (Marcus) Dover, Kathryn Robinson, Griffin Harris, Cameron Harris, Shaun (Ashley) O’Fallon, Steve O’Fallon, Nathan (Brittney)Jumper, Whitney Skinner, Jared Skinner, Jessie W. Epperson and 17 great grandchildren; brothers, Terry (Jennifer)Benford, J.M. (Joan)Benford; sisters, Olive Berry, Sarah (Jackie) Nix, Jackie (Tommy) Hutcheson and Janice Anderson; nieces, nephews and friends. Her visitation will be held on Monday August 13, 2012 6:00-8:00PM at First Baptist Church-Haleyville, AL., with her service held on Tuesday at 11:00AM at the church, she will lie in state 10:00-11:00AM, with Dr. Jim Cooley officiating, burial to follow at Winston Memorial Cemetery. Her Pallbearers will be Shaun O’Fallon, Steve O’Fallon, Griffin Harris, Cameron Harris, Nathan Jumper, Jared Skinner and Aubrey McCullar.
