Funeral services for Mrs. Rebecca Martin Simpson, age 81, and her husband, Mr. Matthew E. Simpson, age 89, are scheduled for 2 PM, Tuesday, December 6, 2016 in the chapel of Pafford Funeral Home in Scotts Hill with Bro. Tim Buffaloe officiating. Interment will follow in Sardis Cemetery. Mrs. Simpson passed away Saturday in Jackson. She was born May 19, 1935 in Stanton, Tennessee to the late Harry Franklin Martin and Janie Tennessee Cleek Martin. She was retired from Salant & Salant, was a member of Hinkle Baptist Church, loved dogs and crocheting, and was always busy.
Mrs. Simpson was followed in death by her husband, Mr. Matthew E. Simpson on Sunday, December 4, 2016. She was preceded in death by three brothers, James, Harry, and Roy Martin and two sisters, Helen Leek and Lucy Stafford. She is survived by five sons, Robert David Simpson (Becky), Harry Simpson, Johnny Simpson (Vickie), Jeff Simpson, and Mike “Pete” Simpson; four daughters, Janie Moody (Jerry), Wilma Foster (Terry), Kathy Young, and Debbie Hamilton (Dale); three brothers, George, Earl, and Clifford Martin; three sisters, Betty Thompson, Myrtle Johnson, and Janie Palmer; nineteen grandchildren, forty-two great grandchildren; and one great-great grandchild.
