Alfred Draper, 87, of Hartselle, passed away Tuesday, Nov. 22, 2016, at his residence. Visitation will be Friday, Nov. 25, 2016, from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. at Hartselle Heritage Funeral Home followed by a funeral service at 1 p.m. at the funeral home with Brother Red Clark officiating. Burial will follow at Bethel Baptist Cemetery.
Mr. Draper was a member of the First Church of the Nazarene. He was well known for his gardening. Mr. Draper was born Feb. 4, 1929, to Horace and Bertha Robinson Draper. He was preceded in death by his parents, and his wife, Shirley Draper; a sister, Nettie Mitchell, and several brothers.
He is survived by two daughters, Diane Nelson and husband, Terry, Lisa French and husband, Anthony; also two sisters, Laverne Ramey and Margaret Draper; two grandsons, Michael Nelson and Jonathan Nelson and wife, Rachel; and three great-granddaughters, Shelby, Paige, and Payton Nelson.
