James Neal Mason, 34, passed away Oct. 23, 2016. Visitation will be today, Oct. 26, 2016, from noon until 2 p.m. at Spry-Williams Funeral Home. The funeral will follow at 2 p.m. in the funeral home chapel with Ben Hayes and Kenneth Floyd officiating. Burial will be in the New Hope Church of Christ Cemetery, Oakland.
James was employed with Ryder Transportation and was a member of Oakdale Baptist Church. He was a devoted husband, father, son and brother, and was an avid Alabama fan.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Hazle and Woodrow Mason and Marge Ezell. He is survived by his loving wife, Jennifer Mason; daughter, Breanna; parents, Jimmy and Angie Mason; grandparents, Morland Ezell and Aubrey and Paula Bradley; siblings, Hannah Mason and Jonathan (Misty) Smith; and niece and nephew, Cade Smith and Laneigh Smith.
Pallbearers will be Casey Barnes, Baxter Clement, Eddie Peeden, Davey Smitherman, Austin Tippett and Archie Walker. Chuck English will serve as honorary pallbearer.
The family would like to express their appreciation to the 4th floor nurses at Helen Keller Hospital, Gentiva Hospice and the Northwest Alabama Cancer Center staff.
