ALEA Looking For Vehicle That Fled The Scene of Fatal Accident Near Jasper

traffic_fatality2JASPER-The Alabama Law Enforcement released a statement regarding a two vehicle accident that occurred on Thursday, October 20 taking the life of a 9-year-old boy:

“A two-vehicle crash at 1:50 p.m. today, Oct. 20, has claimed the life of a Jasper boy. The 9-year-old was killed when the 1995 Honda Nighthawk motorcycle on which he was a passenger collided with a passenger vehicle. The boy was pronounced dead on the scene, and the motorcycle’s driver, Jason Key, 23, of Jasper, was transported to UAB Hospital in Birmingham. The passenger car fled the scene, and Troopers are actively working to locate it. The crash occurred on Alabama 69 near Burrows Crossing Road, eight miles north of Jasper.

Troopers are asking for anyone with information about the crash or the missing vehicle to please contact the Hamilton Highway Patrol Post at (205) 921-3121. Nothing further is available as Alabama State Troopers continue to investigate.”
