Saturday, October 29, 10:00 am – 1:00 pm
Florence-Lauderdale Public Library
Did you have a favorite restaurant growing up? Maybe your family has a recipe that has been passed down for generations? Everyone has memories about food, so come share your story and help us celebrate the history of local food!

History students of UNA will be conducting community interviews on the local history of food, cooking, eateries, and recipes at the Florence-Lauderdale Library on October 22nd and October 29th from 10:00am to 1:00pm. These interviews will help preserve this important part of the community’s cultural history as well as help students gain public history experience and develop a digital history exhibit. All residents of Lauderdale County are welcomed and encouraged to attend. So please consider sharing your memories and experience of local food, and help us ensure this culture is preserved for generations to come. For more information, call (256) 765-5069.
