Sarah Ann Weems Kerr, 93, passed away at her home Sunday, Sept. 25, 2016. There will be a memorial service Friday, Sept. 30, at Town Creek United Methodist Church at 1 p.m. preceded with a guest gathering one hour prior to the service. There will be a private burial at Elmwood Cemetery at a later date.
Mrs. Kerr graduated from Alabama College (Montevello) in 1945 and taught sixth grade and junior high school for 35 years in Town Creek, Hatton, and Tennessee.
Mrs. Kerr was preceded in death by her husband, John R. Kerr Jr., and her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Leon Weems.
She is survived by her son, John W. Kerr; granddaughter, Christy Kerr (Ed) Bowman; two great-grandchildren, Reece and Reagan; and former daughter-in-law, Judy Spruell. She will also be leaving behind her beloved church family and friends.
