Cecil Guy Jeffreys, age 86, of Tuscumbia, died Thursday, August 2, 2012. Visitation will be Saturday, August 4, 2012, from noon-2 p.m. at Morrison Funeral Home of Tuscumbia. His funeral service will follow in the funeral home chapel with Jack Wilhelm officiating. Burial will be in Oakwood Cemetery, Tuscumbia.
Mr. Jeffreys was a member of Highland Park Church of Christ and was a Deacon and Bible class teacher in the Church of Christ. He served in the South Pacific in the Navy during WWIIand was retired from International Paper. He was preceded in death by his son, Howard E. Jeffreys.
Survivors include his wife of 62 years, Frances B. Jeffreys; daughter, Beth Jeffreys Dickerson and husband, Joe; daughter-in-law, Bonnie L. Jeffreys; one grandson, Andrew H. Jeffreys; and sisters, Susie Rogers, Ann Wells, Janell Montgomery and Peggy Simpson.
Pallbearers are Phil Montgomery, Hisham Durdunji, Max Eady, Joel Kendrick, Jim Nix, Freddie Williams, Glenn Grubbs and Jeff Simpson.
