HARTSELLE-The Hartselle Police Department released a statement concerning a break-in and robbery of a pharmacy on Tuesday, August 23:

“On Tuesday, August 23, 2016, at approximately 10:30 pm, Hartselle Police Officers were dispatched to Gilchrist Pharmacy, located at 404 Sparkman Street NW Hartselle, AL, for a business alarm. Officers found the drive-through window to be broken out and they made entry and cleared the business.

It was determined that the suspect stole various prescription drugs during the burglary. HPD posted a surveillance picture of the suspect on Facebook for help in making an identification.


Houston Lee Holmes, DOB: 11/16/1992, of 504 Sparkman Street NW Hartselle, AL, was developed as a suspect.

HPD Officers made contact with Holmes on August 24, 2016, at his listed address. Houston was later arrested at the house and transported to HPD for further questioning. HPD Officers recovered stolen prescription drugs and other evidence from the house.

Houston was later transported to the Morgan County Jail and given a $5000.00 bond for the charges of Burglary 3rd and Unlawful Possession of a Controlled Substance.”
