Mr. James Wheeler Parrish, 81, of Florence, passed away Monday, July 30, 2012 at ECM Hospital after a brief illness. He was an elder at College View Church of Christ, and a retired manager of the Bookstore at U.N.A.
Visitation will be Wednesday, August 01, 2012 from 1 – 3 p.m. at Greenview Funeral Home with the service beginning at 3 p.m. in Greenview Memorial Chapel. Officiating will be Mark White. Burial will follow in Tri-Cities Memorial Gardens.
Mr. Parrish was preceded in death by his parents, Lucian and Eutra Parrish; brother, Johnny Word Parrish; sister, Vera Jo Parrish Carlton.
He is survived by his wife, Betty Graben Parrish; son, Scott Parrish (Rosemarie); daughter, Carol Kern ( David); brothers, Virgil Parrish and Tommy Martin Parrish; grandchildren, Graben, Jennifer, Brandon and Jonathan Parrish, and James Kern.
Active pallbearers will be the deacons of College View Church of Christ.
Honorary pallbearers will be the elders of College View Church of Christ.

Dear Carol,
Rose Mary and I were saddened to hear about the death of your father. Your father is with our Father and awaits your arrival where you and he can share eternity together. I know his loss is painful, but it is our hope that knowing that he is waiting for you will eventually, be of conform you and David. Until then our prayers are with you.
