Freda June Wilhite – Obituary

Freda June Wilhite, 82, formerly of Strawberry Plains, Tennessee went to be with the Lord on Sunday, July 24, 2016 after a courageous battle with Alzheimer’s.

She loved her family and was a wonderful mother and Mamaw. She was always a kind, genuine person and will be greatly missed. She was born on Dec. 17, 1933 to Sam and Ola Osborne Perry and lived most of her life in the Carter community. She was a faithful member of Mount Harmony Baptist Church until her move to Decatur, in August 2015. She was retired from Carrier Corporation after 20 years of service. Preceded in death by her husband of 52 years, Kenneth W. Wilhite; grandson, Matthew Clark; parents, brothers, Freeman and Bob Perry and sister, Juanita Huffaker.

Survived by daughters, Tammy (Doug) Clark of Decatur and Sherry (Eddie) McGill of Knoxville, Tennessee; grandchildren, “99” (Shasta) McGill, Courtney Clark, Chelsea (Daniel) Lanier, Mitchell Clark and the joy of her life, great-grandson, Gage Roberts.

Services will be Thursday, July 28, 2016 at Bridges Funeral Home, Knoxville, Tennessee with Reverend Charlie Harkleroad officiating. Visitation will be from 1 to 2 p.m. followed by a 2 p.m. funeral. Burial will follow in Eastview Memorial Gardens, Strawberry Plains, Tennessee.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that memorials be made to the Beltline Church of Christ Building Fund or to the Alzheimer’s Association.
