One Suspect Arrested In July 1 Theft…More Arrests Expected

ATHENS-Athens Police Chief Floyd Johnson released a statement regarding a theft case from July 1.  An arrest has been made and the investigation is ongoing:

“On July 1, 2016 the police department received a complaint from Lowe’s that they had had a theft. There loss prevention department had identified 2 males that had entered the Athens store on June 30, 2016 and took a 20 volt Dewalt 5 tool combo drill, a 20 volt Dewalt 4 tool combo drill and 3 20 volt Dewalt drill/driver combos. The total value of the theft was $1575.00.

One of the suspects was identified as Desmond Kade Aycock. Aycock was arrested Friday night on a warrant for theft of property 2nd obtained by investigator Jonathan Caldwell. Aycock was booked at the police department and transferred to the county jail.

The investigation into this case will continue and more arrest is expected. “
