brianBrian Keith Wooten, age 54, passed away July 17, 2016. Visitation will be today from 1:30-4 p.m. at Cross Point Church of Christ. The funeral service will follow at 4 p.m. at Cross Point with George Barrera, Ken Delano, and Frank Mills officiating. Burial will be in the Florence City Cemetery.

Brian was employed at AIT, Inc. as a systems analyst. He was a shepherd with Cross Point Church of Christ and participated in mission trips to Zimbabwe and Antigua. He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy and an avid Alabama fan.

Brian was preceded in death by his grandparents, Elmer and Rubie Wooten and John and Maudie Busler, and his parents-in-law, David and Margaret Westmoreland.

He is survived by his loving wife of 30 years, Lynn Westmoreland Wooten; parents, Elger “Al” and Glenda Wooten; children, Maggie King (Wes) and Jennie Wooten (Dederick Anderson); grandchildren, Lily, Elsa, and Max King; brothers, Darren Wooten (Mikki) and Rodney Wooten (Tracy); and several loving nieces and nephews.

Brian adored his family and loved hearing his grandchildren call for their “grandpop”.

Pallbearers will be Stephone Darby, Darren Wooten, Rodney Wooten, Logan Wooten, Evan Wooten, Kelly Henderson, Patrick Blasingame, Greg Parker, Terry Geiger, and Kevin Archuleta. The shepherds of Cross Point will serve as honorary pallbearers.

“Partnerships for Africa” was close to Brian’s heart. He knew of the tremendous need for fresh water. Because of this, in lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Cross Point Church of Christ, “Wooten African Well”, 1350 Cox Creek Parkway, Florence, AL 35633.
