Dr. Nell Mitchell Ashcraft, 89, died Feb. 10, 2016. Visitation will be Saturday at Morrison Funeral Home, Tuscumbia, from 2-3:30 p.m. There will be a funeral service in the chapel at 3:30 p.m. with Jerry Edgil officiating. Interment will be in Florence City Cemetery.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Mamie Sue Turner and Marion Morgan Mitchell.
Dr. Ashcraft was a native of Tuscumbia, Alabama. She retired from her practice as an Ortho Spinologist in Baton Rogue, Louisiana and was a member of the Eastern Star. She is survived by son, Orville Norman Ashcraft, Bellville, Texas; daughters, Myra Nell Nash, Dallas, Georgia, and Stephanie K. Ashcraft, Roswell, Georgia; nieces, Susan James and Dana Sue Lang; nephew, John E. Stonecipher; six grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren.
