DECATUR-On Thursday, February 11 the Decatur Police made an arrest on Forgery Charges.  Statement follows:

“SYNOPSIS OF OFFENSE & ARREST:
On February 11th, 2016 at 2:53pm, Officers of the Decatur Police responded to a Forgery at 1000 Beltline Rd SW 35603 (Aldi’s Market). When Officers arrived, they learned that a female identified as Tiffany Roberts, who was still in the store, attempted to pay for merchandise with 4 counterfeit $5 bills. Officers also learned that Roberts handed the cashier an actual $5 bill U.S. Currency in which the serial numbers of all four forged items matched. Roberts was transported to the Decatur City Hall for further questioning. After further investigation Roberts was charged with 4 counts of being in Possession of a Forged Instrument in the 1st degree. Roberts was booked into the Decatur City Jail and was later transferred to the Morgan County Jail in Lieu of a $20,000.00 Bond.”
