Sheffield Police Looking for 22-year old hit-and-run driver

SHEFFIELD – Emergency personnel were called to 6th Street and Little Rock Avenue Saturday to attend to a man, who witnesses say was intentionally run over, and left in the road. The incident happened around 2:30pm at Nine Oaks Apartments. Witnesses told The Quad-Cities Daily that Thomas Joshua Henson, 22, of Tuscumbia and the unidentified victim were having some sort of altercation. Sheffield Police Captain Fred Grabryan said the man was airlifted to Huntsville Hospital for treatment.

Prior to being transported, the victim’s wife and some family members arrived at the scene, but wouldn’t comment on what had happened.

Sheffield Investigator, Bobby McAlpin said that the victim was able to speak and gave a statement to police. They expect to have Henson in custody shortly.

Police are requesting that anyone with knowledge of Henson’s whereabouts to contact them at 256 383-1771.
