TVA Hosts Open House on Coal Combustion Products Disposal at Colbert Wednesday January 20

download (2)TUSCUMBIA–  TVA is hosting an information open house to receive comments from the public about options for disposal of ash and other coal combustion products at its Colbert Fossil Plant. The public is invited to express their ideas on disposal of coal combustion products at the Colbert Fossil Plant.

The open house will take place Wednesday, January 20 from 5:30m PM until 7:30Pm at the Tuscumbia Parks and Recreation at 601 North Commons Street East in Tuscumbia. TVA program managers and subject matter experts will be on hand to answer questions.

TVA is issuing a Draft Environmental Impact Statement which considers the impacts of two primary closure methods for the CCR impoundments: (1) Closure-in-Place and (2) Closure-by-Removal.  This open house is part of a public comment period that ends Feb. 24. The evening will include a brief presentation at around 5:45 p.m. More information is available at https://www.tva.gov/nepa.
