HUNTSVILLE-As of 8:30 AM , Monday, December 28 here is a latest radar update from the National Weather Service.

” We are still watching a line of showers and thunderstorms moving slowly east-northeast towards the area. Light to moderate rain is already overspreading the western parts of the area and the line should impact the western Alabama border in the next hour or two.”

HAZARDOUS WEATHER OUTLOOK IS FOR NORTH CENTRAL ALABAMA…
NORTHEAST ALABAMA…NORTHWEST ALABAMA AND SOUTHERN MIDDLE
TENNESSEE.

.DAY ONE…TODAY AND TONIGHT…

A SQUALL LINE OF THUNDERSTORMS WILL QUICKLY MOVE EASTWARD
TODAY…LIKELY IMPACTING LOCATIONS WEST OF INTERSTATE 65 DURING THE
LATE MORNING HOURS AND POINTS TO THE EAST DURING THE AFTERNOON AND
EARLY EVENING. STRONG TO SEVERE STORMS WILL BE POSSIBLE WITH DAMAGING
WINDS AND HEAVY RAIN. THE HEAVY RAIN WILL CONTINUE TO AGGRAVATE
FLOODING CONCERNS ACROSS THE AREA. A FLASH FLOOD WATCH IS IN EFFECT
FOR THE ENTIRE AREA THOUGH 6 PM THIS EVENING. A FEW BRIEF TORNADOES
MAY BE POSSIBLE WITH MORE ORGANIZED CELLS.

OUTSIDE OF THUNDERSTORM AREAS…WINDS WILL INCREASE INTO THE 25 TO 30
MPH WITH HIGHER GUSTS POSSIBLE…ESPECIALLY IN THE HIGHER TERRAIN.
GIVEN THE SATURATED SOILS ACROSS THE AREA…SHALLOW ROOTED TREES MAY
BE UPROOTED. A WIND ADVISORY IS IN EFFECT FOR THE ENTIRE AREA FROM 9
AM TO 6 PM TODAY.

.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN…TUESDAY THROUGH SUNDAY…

ADDITIONAL THUNDERSTORMS ARE POSSIBLE FROM TUESDAY NIGHT THROUGH
WEDNESDAY AS ANOTHER STORM SYSTEM IMPACTS THE REGION.
