aFLORENCE-Grogan by Lon held an open house and ribbon cutting to celebrate the reawakening of a fine jewelery tradition on Tuesday, September 22 at 12 noon..  The jewelry was beautiful, the food was excellent and the fellowship was great in a beautiful setting ….Grogan by Lon.  Grogan by Lon is located in Florence at 285 Cox Creek Parkway.

Now just a little about Grogan by Lon:

“Grogan Jewelers has a long history of providing customers with quality
merchandise, outstanding service and incredible prices. The legacy began in 1915 when Elisha A. Grogan founded Grogan Jewelers.
In 1985, Jay Klos brought his knowledge and extensive jewelry background to the business. Under his direction, Grogan Jewelers has set the precedent for being the leader in the diamond and fine jewelry business for the area. Grogan Jewelers prides itself in being “Where North Alabama Gets Engaged” as well as the 2014 winner of “Coolest Store in America” as rated by Instore magazine, an industry publication.
In 1987, Lon Brown was determined to chase her dream and to provide for her family. Her goal was simple, to provide quality jewelry at affordable prices. Lon worked long hours, driving back and forth from Atlanta in the middle of the night so customers could get their jewelry as promised. Known as one of the hardest working women in the area, Lon’s accomplishments extend far beyond the jewelry store. Lon’s Jewelers’ 28 years of solid business allowed her to raise three children, put nieces and nephews through college, and eventually bring most of her family legally into the United States, all while servicing her clients at affordable prices and with unmatched caring.
Flash forward to today, Jay and Lon are not only celebrating their successful years in the business, but also the 100th anniversary of Grogan’s Jewelers and a new collaboration between both businesses. Grogan Jewelers by Lon enters a new era of even better selection and fantastic service. Both Lon Brown and Jay Klos believe the rare merger of long-standing local businesses will create a broad marketplace for jewelry shoppers around the Shoals. Jay and Lon are cut from the same cloth – it’s all about the customer. We are extremely proud of Jay and Lon, and the business they have brought to the community, and look forward to 100 more years as Grogan Jewelers by Lon!”

The Shoals chamber was ever ready with camera in hand to capture the event in photos….we present them to you here:
