LauraA Celebration of Life for Laura Pearl Morris, 59, of Decatur will be 1 p.m. Tuesday, September 15, 2015, at King’s Memorial United Methodist Church with the Reverend James Coffey Jr. officiating and inhumation to follow in Calvary Memorial Gardens. The body will lie in repose one hour prior to funeral. Public viewing will be today from 2 to 6 p.m. and Monday from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. at Reynolds Funeral Home.
Laura was born on July 20, 1956, to James Edward Coffey Sr. and Laura Mae Johnson Coffey. She departed this life on Thursday, September 10, 2015, at Decatur Morgan Hospital-DG Campus.
Mrs. Morris was a lifelong faithful member of Love Chapel C.M.E. Church. She was a 1974 graduate of West Morgan High School and was a former employee of 25 years with BellSouth.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her brother, Abraham Coffey; and nephew Jeremy Coffey.
Her spirit awaits the homecoming of her husband, Leon Morris; three daughters, Kenya Coffey, Francilia Sharpley, and Sharonda Acklin; two stepsons, Roderick (Verenda) Morris, and Adrian Morris; five grandchildren; two sisters, Lucy (Lester) Brown and Melissa (Alvin) Wiley; six brothers, Eddie Joe (Jerita) Coffey, James Curtis Coffey, Stanley Coffey, Franklin Coffey, the Reverend James Edward (Melissa) Coffey, and Roy McDaniel; one aunt, Lucy Mae Johnson; four uncles, Johnny (Lena) Johnson, the Reverend Robert (Mary) Johnson, Bossie (Clara) Johnson, Dan Milton Johnson, and a host of nieces, nephews and cousins.
