Mary-Rosa-1441116935My beloved aunt, Mary Rosa, 93 of the Eddy Community, Arab died peaceably in her sleep in Marshall Manor Nursing Home on Sunday, August 30, 2015.

Mary was born April 2, 1922, in New York City, New York. After she married in 1945, she moved to Queens, N.Y. where she lived until retiring to Las Vegas, Nevada in 1980 after working in the clothing industry sewing Model Designer dresses for over 30 years. In April, 2010, after the death of her sister, she moved to Arab, Alabama to be close to her niece. Mary was a devoted wife, a very giving sister, an awesomely kind and generous aunt and a wonderful, faithful friend to many. She was a member of the Catholic Daughters of America, Forever Young Seniors Club and the Red Hat Club. After many years of working out at the YMCA, Mary became a water aerobics instructor at the age of 80. When she moved to Arab, she became a member of Saint William Catholic Church in Guntersville.

She left behind her niece: Carolyn A. Guggenheim and husband, Jim; grandniece: Michele Rosa Kratochvil and husband, Chris and great-grand niece: Abigail Elizabeth and nephews: Ralph (Ronnie) Rosa and wife, Lucie and Jimmy Rosa and wife, Carol.

Mary was preceded in death by her husband of 45 years: Alfio (Gary) Rosa and her sister: Joan Messina.

A Memorial Service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Friday, September 4, 2015 at Arab Heritage Memorial Chapel, Reverend Tim Pfander, officiating. The family elected cremation, Arab Heritage Memorial Chapel assisted with cremation arrangements and direction of the memorial service.
