8th Annual Regency Jr. Idol Competition

Florence, AL…Do you or someone you know have talent? Can they sing?  Regency Square Mall is looking for talented singers ages 6-16 for the 8th Annual Regency Jr. Idol Competition. The winner will receive free recording studio time and demo CDs to help further their music career as well as a professional photography session.  Auditions will be held in Sears Court, Regency Square Mall on July 14th for ages 6-11 and July 21st for ages 12-16; both audition days begin at 4pm. The finalists will ride in a limousine, take a tour of FAME recording studios, and have a VIP experience attending a W.C. Handy Music Festival event on July 26th.  Finals will take place July 27th at 6pm in the Mall as part of the W.C. Handy Music Festival activities.

Interested individuals can pick up a registration form at The Shoe Dept. inside Regency Square Mall anytime during mall hours. Contestants may only register for the day in which their age group is listed, and registration paperwork must be turned in no later than 6pm the day beforetheir appropriate age audition. Registration will not be permitted the days of the auditions. Three contestants will be chosen to advance from each age bracket. The auditions and the finals will be judged by both the audience and professional judges. The audience will cast dollar votes for their favorite performers with all proceeds benefiting the North Alabama Christian Children’s Home. The event is sponsored by FAME Recording Studios, Unique Car Care & Limousine Service, Doug Richardson Photography and Regency Square Mall.

The North Alabama Christian Children’s Home is a residential foster care home that provides care for boys and girls ages 6-17. It is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization, supported in part by congregations of the Churches of Christ, concerned individuals and fundraising efforts. Three cottages are found on the ten acre campus, as well as an administration building, an open pavilion, and a workshop barn. Loving houseparents live in the three residences with the children. A social worker, secretary, and an administrator are also on staff. Maintenance helps to provide a beautiful campus for the kids to run, play, and live.
