Heat Advisory Issued For All Of The Tennessee Valley

THE TENNESSEE VALLEY-A Heat Advisory has been issued by the National Weather Service for Monday, August 10:

TIMING AND AREAS AFFECTED...THE FOLLOWING ALABAMA COUNTIES ARE IN A
  HEAT ADVISORY: LAUDERDALE...COLBERT... FRANKLIN...
  LAWRENCE...LIMESTONE...MADISON...MORGAN...CULLMAN AND MARSHALL.

TEMPERATURE...95 TO 100 DEGREES WITH HEAT INDICES BETWEEN 103 TO 108
 DEGREES.

IMPACTS...INCREASED RISK OF HEAT-RELATED ILLNESSES INCLUDING
 HEAT EXHAUSTION AND HEAT STROKE.

A HEAT ADVISORY MEANS THAT A PERIOD OF HOT TEMPERATURES IS
EXPECTED. THE COMBINATION OF HOT TEMPERATURES AND HIGH HUMIDITY
WILL COMBINE TO CREATE A SITUATION IN WHICH HEAT ILLNESSES ARE
POSSIBLE.

TAKE EXTRA PRECAUTIONS IF YOU WORK OR SPEND TIME OUTSIDE. WHEN
POSSIBLE...RESCHEDULE STRENUOUS ACTIVITIES TO EARLY MORNING OR
EVENING. KNOW THE SIGNS AND SYMPTOMS OF HEAT EXHAUSTION AND HEAT
STROKE. WEAR LIGHT WEIGHT AND LOOSE FITTING CLOTHING WHEN
POSSIBLE AND DRINK PLENTY OF WATER. CHECK UP ON RELATIVES AND
NEIGHBORS. ABSOLUTELY DO NOT LEAVE CHILDREN OR PETS UNATTENDED IN
VEHICLES!
