Donald-Rider-1438962510Donald Ray (Don) Rider, Sr., 76, of Atoka, TN, went to be with Jesus on Thursday , August 6, 2015, at his residence. He was born in Alcorn County on October 5, 1938 to the late Arnold and Beatrice Rider and was a graduate of Kossuth High School. He was a Navy veteran and retired from Federal Reserve Bank in Memphis in 2002 after 30 years of service. Don loved spending time with family, especially his grandchildren. He also enjoyed watching sports and NASCAR races. He was a faithful follower of Jesus Christ and was a member of Gateway Baptist Church in Atoka, TN and formerly a member of West Corinth Baptist Church in Corinth, MS. Visitation is scheduled from 2 until 4 PM on Sunday, August 9, 2015. A celebration of Don’s life will be held at 4 PM, Sunday, August 9, 2015 at Magnolia Funeral Home Chapel of Memories, officiated by Dr. Gary Watkins. Interment will follow at Forrest Memorial Park. Magnolia Funeral Home is caring for the family. Those left to honor Dons memory include his faithful and loving wife of 48 years: Glenda Steen Rider of Atoka, TN; his sons: Jay Rider and wife Teresa of Brighton, TN and Patrick Rider and wife Julie of Jasper, AL; his grandchildren: Haley Rider and Regan Rider of Brighton, TN , Caroline Rider and Eli Rider of Jasper, AL; his brother: Bill Rider and wife Louise of Jackson, TN; his sisters: Doris Latch and husband Eldon of Corinth, MS, Brenda Watkins and husband Gary of Collierville, TN, Glenda Harrison and husband Chester Wayne of New Site, MS and Linda Hughes and husband Wayne of Corinth, MS; a sister-in-law: Margaret Rider; a brother-in-law: Lester Downs; other relatives, and a host of friends. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his brother: James Rider; his sisters: Frances Downs, Sandra Jaudon, and Betty Reddell; and a brother-in-law: Jerry Reddell.
