Lena (Boots) Torstenson – Obituary

Shirley-Hornbuckle-1438951765Lena (Boots) Torstenson, 75, of Sweet Home died Friday August 7, 2015 at Huntsville Hospital after a lengthy illness of Kidney failure and heart problems. She was born October 31, 1939 to Clay Evans Boots Sr. and Clada (Simpson) Boots in Muncie, Indiana. She was born in a log cabin. She was a loving wife and mother and enjoyed spending time with her family more than anything. She loved to play cards and games with her children. She made every holiday a special event and was a very giving person. She liked crafts, sewing, crochet and knitting. She enjoyed beautiful flower gardens and music. She used to restore dolls and make doll clothes for Christmas charities in Huntsville.
She is survived by her husband- Charles Albert Torstenson; three children- Janice Torstenson, Jackie Torstenson(Gary) and Adrian Torstenson (Sandy); seven grandchildren- Heath Torstenson(Holly), Heather Stepp, Lora Ellen Laxson (Axel), Derek Laxson (Ginger) Jared Stepp, seven great-grandchildren- Jillian LeAnne Wright, Emma Claire Roblis, Demitri Roblis, Anna Roblis, Christian Gomez, MacKenzie Gomez Allyson Burgett; three brothers- Bill Headrick, Clay Boots (Linda) Roger Boots; three sisters Janice Maxine Spurlin, Cheryl Anne York and Shelia Meadows (Boonie). She was preceded in death by her parents, Clay and Clada Adams Boots; sister-n- law Marcella Headrick, brother-in –law Donald Spurlin and a son she lost at five months. In lieu of flowers donation may be made to Christ Lutheran Church in Albertville, Al.
