Earleen Hester Zinaman – Obituary

Earleen died on July, 27 2015. She was 93 years old. She was one of the thirteen children of Hugh and Weber Hester, of Red Rock, Alabama. She was a teacher for 35 years at Allsboro and Cherokee, Alabama, New York City, Florida and Nashville, Tennessee. During World War II she spent two years in the Women’s Army Corps. During that time she met and later married Joe Zinaman, of Brooklyn, New York. He predeceased her by many years. She was also predeceased by her sisters, Martha Killian (Wilburn), of Birmingham, Alabama, and Miranda Jett, of Ft. Wayne, Indiana, and brothers, Wayne Hester (Joan) and Laurence Hester, of Huntsville, Alabama. She is survived by her son, Mark H. Zinaman; and daughter, Jo Ann Zinaman, of Sheffield, Alabama; and daughter, Kathryn Zinaman Doucet (Bryan), of Carencro, Louisiana; sisters, Rebecca Nail (Preston), of Calera, Alabama, Ruth Thompson (Jack), of Montgomery, Alabama, Ann Culberson (Fred), of Tequesta, Florida, and Dorothy Malone (Terry), of Red Rock, Alabama; and brothers, Denton (Lucille), Glenn, Douglas (Mary), and Jack Hester (Carla), of Red Rock, Alabama; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
Visitation will be today from 5-7 p.m. at Colbert Memorial Funeral Home. Graveside services will be at Colbert Memorial Gardens on Thursday, July, 30, 2015, at 3 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Cancer Society. A special thanks to Amedisys Hospice for the love and care you gave to our dear mother.
